Sanctuary
“At Sanctuary we take in those that have had challenging experiences on Earth.” Left Eye never made direct eye contact for longer than half a second. That made me not want to trust her. Yaya said it was because she was ashamed of herself, but I didn’t think so. So I half listened as I made note of things.
We were about 70 miles away from the city. This ‘Holistic Village’ had walls stronger than prisons. They hid the barbed wire at the top of them with fake vining plants. She said the government wanted to focus on lower income, more urban populations. So people like Yaya’s Uncle Ray and my cousin Erykah. Not rich white girls that did too much coke in Ibiza on vacation or tech CEO’s named Sean that brushed their teeth with Ketamine. After Yaya’s fourth glass of juice and sixth piece of Sashimi I knew I’d probably lose her. But I wasn’t biting the bait.
That was, until we entered the gate of the compound. There were no prison guards or people in chains. There were no sterile buildings, suits, or uniforms. Everyone roamed around freely in different variations of linen. Luxury treehouses made of shipping containers. Greenhouses, and tennis courts, and bathhouses with rooftop pools. Not just a cafeteria, but a food hall full of Michelin chefs and quality food. They had trainers, and yogis, therapists, and gurus, art teachers, and fairies. They had fairies.
There are fairies in the woods.
“Bitch you been doing ayahuasca with the Shamans? I told you to stay out of the woods. Everybody I’ve talked to said stay out of the woods.
